Classic Wyoming Guest Ranch Rooted in Conservation and a Century of Ranching Heritage.

Welcome to the Ranch

Along the banks of the North Platte River, in the heart of southern Wyoming’s Medicine Bow Mountains, lies the A Bar A Ranch. One of the West’s oldest and largest ranches, it is a magical place where generations of families create summer memories together.

The A Bar A features unforgettable horseback riding, fly fishing, hiking, and other outdoor activities for the entire family.

We invite you to share in this extraordinary experience.

Yours from Wyoming,
Lissa and Justin Howe,
Ranch Managers

Outdoor Family Adventures

Open spaces await riders and hikers, with hundreds of miles of trails and landscapes to explore.

With over 32 miles of blue-ribbon private water, fly fishing is exceptional.

Fully “un-plugged”, our Children’s Program combines energetic counselors, educational and fun activities, and the Big Outdoors to create memorable experiences for kids.

Sense of Place

Historic cabins and lodges provide comfort and simplicity. The A Bar A experience centers on gathering spaces, including the iconic Round Room and Dining Lodge.

Shooting sports, tennis, pickleball, golf, swimming, river tubing, and other outdoor games and activities are all options to enjoy at A Bar A!

Meals are a highlight, with delicious options for all. Evening entertainment includes cowboy singing and folk music, along with plenty of socializing with family and friends.

Heritage and Tradition

The A Bar A has been continuously operated as a guest and cattle ranch since the early 1920s, and generations of guests make it their Western “home away from home.” Long traditions, like the Friday night dinner ride, are always highlights of a stay at the A Bar A.
